Stitch Fix #11 Review - Knoxville, TN - April 2015

My "Note to My Stylist"

1st, I'd love to stick with Catie as my stylist please! This month I'd like some peaces for an Easter outfit (maybe pants or skirt, blouse, necklace, earrings, & cardigan or Dress, necklace/scarf, earrings, & cardigan). For each piece, think "spring" and "color", but at the same time keep them classic pieces that will function individually. I've pinned a picture of the dress my 3 daughters (4,3, & 1) will be wearing so you have an idea of color (pleated dress with blue and yellow butterflies). I've pinned a bunch of new items, but some of my faves are the Bellatrix Embroidered Detail Dress by Ark n Co, & the gray Martini Devin Lace Detail Maxi Dress.

My Stylist, Catie's Note to Me
Hi again, Lili! Thank you for posting the great pictures on your blog! I love seeing how the items work for you.  I'm so glad you loved the utility jacket.  I loved seeing how you styled it with skinny jeans and your Hunter boots! I also checked out all the new pins on Pinterest and scoped out the adorable dress for your daughters! I've added some amazing dresses for Easter.  I can't wait to see how they look on you! The Mckinley dress is great for coordinating with your daughters.  It has little birds on it, and the mix of blues are so beautiful.  Try it with the necklace included for a pop of bright orange for a fun mix.  The Kailani lace dress is so gorgeous.  The light lilac soft and feminine.  With Love Catie

My Five Pieces
1. DANIEL RAINN Melodie Smocked Detail Polka Dot Print Blouse

I ALMOST sent this back. When I tried it on with the skirt I had to keep readjusting it.
But when I paired it with the Level 99 boot cut jeans from my First Fix it worked!

I do have one miner annoyance... I HATE having to wear a cami under it! WHY is everything SEE THROUGH?!
I've actually worn it several times since and pared it with this TCEC Roxanna Chevron Open Knit Cardigan.
A Stitch Fix keeper from Fix #1.

2. BAY TO BAUBLES Patty Stone and Spoon Statement Necklace

I LOVE that my stylist payed attention to my style profile when I said I LOVE orange! Thank you! That said, this piece although beautiful was just too big and busy for me.
I'm pretty tiny so although I love the look of "chunky" jewelry and wish I could pull it off, it really has to be smaller so I'm not walking around looking and feeling like Cleopatra.

I tried it with the Melodie Smocked Detail Polka Dot Print Blouse...
As well as something smple and black and it still just felt really BIG.

3. YUMI Mckinley Printed Dress

I'm not sure how much I will wear this dress...
BUT with so many shades of blue it will definitely work and look great for Easter and coordinating with my little ladies' Easter dresses.
I added a wide cinch belt to the middle.
And The Hub wore a yellow shirt.  We really did look pretty!

Note To Reader: I pulled a "TOTAL EASTER FAIL" I neglected to get a photo of all of our little family of 5 on Easter morning. I thought we'd have a chance to squeeze it in after church, BUT with 3 hungry, tired little ladies, it just didn't happen.  Maybe I can dress us all up this weekend and recreate Easter.

4. YUMI Kailani Lace Dress

Let me start by saying this dress is BEAUTIFUL and really fit PERFECTLY!
However, it is the second most expensive Stitch Fix piece I have received thus far the most expensive were those Level 99 Jeans pictured above and I wear them at least twice a week.  This gorgeous, yet pricey dress I'd would probably only wear to weddings (which I RARELY go to) or somewhere far from dirty, sticky kid fingers.  With 3 LITTLE ones I just don't know if I'd enjoy wearing it for fear those little hands would ruin it.
It was one of the hardest pieces I've ever sent back!  I KNOW my sister is going to KILL be for this decision but I just think it a case of "right dress wrong time",

5. PAPERMOON Kasidy Swing Skirt

From the moment I pulled this cutie out of the box I knew I'd LOVE IT!!!  This skirt is GREAT! it's something I can dress up or down and will be great for summer and I love that it has more color! Now I just wish I had a top to go with it!  But I found this old navy tank and flip flops, and paired it with this Marilyn Schiff Nanette Pave Circle Pendant Necklace.

A simple and classic necklace I kept from Fix #4.  I was super happy with how it came together.

Overall, this fix was great!  I have to admit, I was a little worried about trusting my Easter dress to chance but Catie came through and with a little bit of accessorizing on my part (which is something I'm generally not great at, I think we had a winner!

According to Katrina Lake Stitch Fix founder and CEO
"Pinterest is by far the most helpful. It's super interesting, and there's a lot of overlap with our audience. Even if you have nothing about fashion on your Pinterest board, you can learn so much by what people are pinning on their decor boards or DIY boards. It gives you a peek into what someone's life is like." - Q&A interview by Dana Hull, with the San Jose Mercury News
