Say a Little Prayer For Kitty Sticks - Baltimore, MD. - November 2012

For the last couple of weeks, we noticed some changes in our kitty cat's weight and behavior. She was hardly getting up to do anything but she was still purring and drinking small amounts of water. We thought she had a bug of some kind or a really bad hair ball, but after several bad days and no improvement, yesterday we took her to the veterinarian.

After an x-ray and several tests they found she did not have any g.i. obstructions, but she was very dehydrated and in acute kidney failure.

They put her on fluids and antibiotics and kept her over night.
If you have a minute to say a quick little prayer for our Kitty Sticks that would be great! She is a sick little kitty and we love her very much!!!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!

Fall Fun - Baltimore, MD. October 2012

Note To Reader: I literally have about 15 posts in "draft" right now and am working to get them out over the next couple of weeks. A few things are occupying my time (posts to come on those soon) but mainly it's that MJ is CRAWLING!!! And E has taken it upon herself to shorten her daily nap. We're working at having quiet time, but when those girls get together there's a lot of laughing and not much sleeping. I LOVE having two girls so close in age and pray that they are close friends always.

This year we ventured into the land of fall festivals and pumpkin patches. And I have to say, while I've never really been a "fall"sort of girl, I can definitely see how it'd be easy to "fall" in love with this season as I watch my little girls play in the beauty of autumn.

Irvine Nature Center had a Fall festival that was too inviting to pass up. We met a friend there and had a great time. It was E and MJ's first encounter with a pumpkin, up close and personal.

E loved every bit of picking her pumpkin...
and MJ's too!
MJ wasn't sure what to make of them...
But with E by her side she'll try anything!
I also discovered that E is pretty much fearless when it comes to giant mascot type animals. This owl was making the rounds throughout the day and if she saw him she RAN to him!
NO FEAR!!!

We also took a short day trip with our good friend Annie and her three kids to visit Weber Cider Mill. This place was AWESOME!!!

There was a kid size tractor ride.
A hay ride with E's best friend Joe (More to come on this).
And a MASSIVE cloth sack slide...
I'm contemplating installing one of these in our back yard it was so fun!
We ate a picnic lunch with good friends and by the end of the day I had to very tired but happy little ladies.
Thanks Annie for lunch and a GREAT day!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!

Here's to Forever! - Baltimore, MD. - July 2012

Seven years ago I married my best friend
He has given me love when I don't deserve it, a listening ear when I ask for it, and a swift kick in the butt when I need it.
He has given me the the 2 most beautiful little girls in the world.

His love for me far surpasses my understanding and I am thankful each day to be his wife.
To quote his card "Here's to the best 7 years of my life so far... Here's to Forever!"

Welcome Home Baby Girl - Baltimore, MD. - March 2012

Two weeks ago  yesterday, in a flurry of excitement, we welcomed sweet baby MJ into the world.
We are all so happy she is here.  She is healthy, happy, and an absolute joy!
Born February 27th at 5:23pm
Weight: 6lbs 4ozs
Length: 22 inches
The story of her arrival is an emotional one for me to tell because nothing went as we'd expected or planned.  A situation that seamed and felt completely routine turned on a dime, leaving both of our lives in the hands of our Lord and the care of our doctors.  I'm working to get it all down as accurately as possible so give me a bit of time.  I'll preface it all by saying it is one of the most frightening moments of my life and has given me a new appreciation for the fragility of life and the ability to overwhelmingly love someone you've only just begun to know.  I have also been humbled by the support of our friends and loved ones, as they support us and share in our joy!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage

Father Daughter Night - Baltimore, MD - February 2012

First off, I really have a feeling that the baby is coming soon, meaning the next couple of days. I have no scientific evidence to back it up, it's just a feeling. That having been said, I wanted to let you know that if I disappear off the planet for a week or two, that's what's happened, but I WILL BE BACK with lots of pictures and stories of "Little Miss MJ" or "Little Man J".

Yep, after 40 weeks of waiting the gender is still a surprise!

Also I have a GIANT announcement about an amazing thing that is going to be happening right here on this blog over the next few months!  We're talking MAJOR!!!

And now, on with the show!

Wednesday night at our house is "Father Daughter Night". I have a regular meeting on Wednesday evenings. A few Wednesday's ago, because of the weather, I had the privilege of being a fly on the wall for this house hold favorite.
I normally leave our 21 month old daughter home with daddy and just hear about their adventures when I return. From the stories, it’s my understanding that dinner kicks off the night. On the menu, our little lady’s favorite, breakfast for supper; pancakes with syrup, scrambled eggs with cheese, and ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert. Everything, except the ice cream of course, was prepared on the griddle. It was fun to see them chatter back and forth over the kitchen island while my husband made dinner. I love that about 70% of their conversation was in a language all their own and when the table was set, bibs were in place, and our short and sweet dinner time blessing was said, it became very clear that the reason she loves this meal so much is because on “Father Daughter night” she is allowed to eat it entirely by herself! What a mess, but they had a great time!

The evening continued with a Beatles dance party...
With a few country favorites thrown in for kicks.
Then, as it gets closer to bed time, they slow it down and do a little "unplugged".

The best part of the evening is when she's in bed and the hub is settled in beside me on the couch. I can tell, without even asking that they've had a fabulous time and neither of them can wait till next week.

What a treat to be a part of their special night!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!

Fun with Bubble Wrap and Minnie Mouse - Baltimore, MD. - January 2012

So we spent a lot of time in our PJ's over the Christmas and New Years holidays for a couple of reasons.

ONE - We were all sick so were therefore entitled.
TWO - PJ's are so much more fun!

I'll spare you the adults in there PJ's but isn't that the cutest PJ'ed fanny you've ever seen?!

It was great to have the Hub home for a few days before he started a pretty crazy rotation. We played with all our new toys from Santa. El and Mini Mouse became fast friends and you can see her new kitchen in the back ground of some of these pictures.

But as always the packing materials proved to be the most amusing occupiers of our time.

Introducing Bubble Wrap Wings!

What will we come up with next?!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!
