Most girls Dream... - Baltimore, MD - November 2009

Most girls spend their whole lives dreaming of owning something beautiful and soft, in their choice of white or some version of cream, designed by the one and only Vera Wang.
Last weekend that became a reality for me. I now have my very own Vera Wang; beautiful, soft, and in a unique version of cream.

The close up...

A little bit wider...

Now the full length shot...

Okay, one more close up...

Isn't it GREAT!!!

It's the most wonderful bed I've ever slept on!!!

We're still undecided about new bedding, except for the fact that we need it, it needs to be softer than what we currently have, and machine washable would be a major plus! I'll keep you posted.

Oh and you can just see the temperary fix for window treatments that my friend Blair thinks are good enough to be perminent. Black out curtains from Bed Bath & Beyond. Thanks for the tips on the 20% off and the double curtain rods. More on that later.

Note To Reader: As a total side note, in my search for Vera Wang dress pictures I found this!!!

A Vera Wang Sequined Hem Dress from the Lavender Label. And even though this blog hardly has anything about fashion on it , as I do not consider myself particularly fashionable, I couldn't resist. When I saw it all I could think was... "Ooooooooooh PRETTY!!!"

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!

Feeling Domestic - Baltimore, MD - November 2009

So I was off work on Thursday and felt the need to be domestic. so aside from cleaning house and paying bills, I broke out the heavy kitchen artillery and created my first ever pumpkin Cheesecake! Not the "No Bake" kind, but a real one that you actually bake.

I must give props to Rachel Masters, author of my favorite cook book to date Suppers on the Table, Come Home. This cookbook has totally changed my world when it comes to my confidence in the kitchen. Yay!Her recipe is actually for a Blueberry Cheesecake, but seeing as how it's 2 weeks after holoween and 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, pumpkin cheesecake just sounded perfect!

So I turned all of this...

Into THIS!!!
Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Bon Voyage!

Rainy Days - Baltimore, MD - October 2009

Today is one of those days that back in college we'd have called Dennis Huff Days. Long story, but it's the sort of day you just want to stay in bed and watch from the comfort of your down comforter with dry feet.

However, I must confess that rainy days are a bit dream like to me. I've always thought it would be very romantic to kiss in the rain.

Not this kind of kissing in the rain, pretty with an umbrella,
but

Messy hair, drenched all the way to your skin, no reservations, taken right from the end of the movie Cast Away where Helen Hunt runs down the driveway after Tom Hanks, which I can find a picture of anywhere. ($1 to the first person that can e-mail one to me at wanderinglili@gmail.com!)

or in The Note Book

or one of the best of all time, Breakfast at Tiffanys.
That sort of kissing in the rain! Happy Rainy Day!

Bon Voyage!

Backwards - Baltimore, MD - October 2009

I have a confession...

Tonight when I returned home from work, I was changing out of my uniform and discovered that my t-shirt was backwards. YES! backwards, neck all high, tagless print right there in the front! Who doesn't notice this sort of thing!?

Racing the Sun - Baltimore, MD - October 2009

As the seasons change and the days get shorter I have found myself in a predicament during my 45 minute commute. It hasn’t been what book to listen to because my favorite authors and some new comers have kept me quite entertained through the audio versions of their newest books and some old classics I just can’t stop rereading. The problem is the sun. Yes, you read that right, that big giant ball of fire in the sky.

So over the past few days, I’ve noticed that I’ve been subconsciously changing the time I leave in the morning for work and the time I leave to come home. Meaning in the morning I am leaving closer and closer to 6:30 a.m. and in the evening I’m finding myself staying till after 6:00 p.m. So after looking at it more closely, I’ve been able to put my finger on it. It’s not that I am a workaholic, which pleases me to NO END!!! (Who wants that label!?). I’ve figured out that I’m racing the sun! I know this sounds silly since it’s going like a million miles an hour… Or is it that we are going a million miles an hour and it is standing still… Or maybe we’re all going a million miles an hour… But I digress… Here’s the proof.

My morning commute to work…
My evening commute home…

Note to Reader: Yes it is illegal to text and drive, but the law NEVER said you can’t take pictures and drive. Sooo... Yeah…

There is a point where in which you come around a bend and literally for about 15 or 20 seconds you can’t see ANYTHING!!! I drop my visor, but the sun is too low. I put my hand
out to block the light, but to the other drivers who can’t see jack, I’m sure I look like I’m saluting a certain dead German dictator. So basically, we, the masses on the interstate at just the wrong time in the morning, have to hold onto the wheel and pray. Or we leave earlier and earlier each morning and later and later each evening. This really doesn’t seem fare! It’s not our fault that the sun can’t handle a normal work schedule.

My commute used to be 1 left turn, a roundabout, and 2 right turns. 5 minutes if I got all the lights green. Now I have to use my GPS… (well not anymore, but for the first month and a half) Is that sad?

Wish me luck tomorrow. Maybe I’ll win again!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage!

Naked Windows - Baltimore, MD - September2009

Note To Reader: I know… I know… To take an almost 2 week break from bloggingand for my first post back to be such a provocative title as this… Well I had to get your attention!!!

So to the point with me… I’m at a loss as to what to do for curtains for our bedroom. The Hub is demanding that something be done soon even if it is not a permanent fix as he is entering the most demanding of his rotations to date and will need to sleep when he is home… no matter the hour.

In fact his exact words were…

“T-Rod!!! We’ve gotta do something about curtains in this room! I can’t sleep in here! It’s like day time!”

So I am taking suggestions! There is a Jo-Ann’s a mile and a half from my house, but I continue to be uninspired!

I’ve taken pictures for those of you that need to visualize…

71” wide x 57“ Tall
and a smaller one on the adjacent wall that is 27” wide x 46” Tall.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage
