Stitch Fix #19 - December 2015 - Knoxville, TN

Welcome to my last fix of 2015! This has been an amazing year not just for my wardrobe, but also in general.  Life's good! So lets jump right in...

MY NOTE TO MY STYLIST
This month I did't send a note to my stylist, mainly because things got super busy at my ouse as we hosted 14 for Thanksgiving. I'd been keeping my Pinterest "My Style Board" updated , and frankly, I just have a really good feeling about my newest stylist, Caroline, so I really just wasn't worried.
MY STYLIST'S NOTE TO ME
Hi Lili, Happy Fix Day! I'm so glad you lobed your last Fix and I had a wonderful time styling for you again today. I saw you had recently pinned a fitted navy dress, and I found a very similar Skies are Blue dress for you! This would look amazing with a denim jacket and the scarf you kept from your last Fix. I know you enjoy a good skirt and the MoVint skirt has the timeless style that you enjoy. Try the 41Hawthorn sweater with the skirt for a fun and preppy outfit! Throw on a pair of tights and ankle boots and you are set! You have both the Creative Commune Blouse and The Market & Spruce Cardigan pinned and I was able to find both of them for you today! Try the Creative Commune Blouse on with a pair of black pants and heels for a fun date night look. Have fun trying on all your new clothes! Take care, Caroline

41HAWTHORN Helix Pullover Sweater - Gray
Size: Just Right | Style: Love It | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Love It
This piece was an awesome pick by caroline.  I think she saw in my Fix Feedback how much I LOVED the 41HAWTHORN Helix Pullover Sweater I received last month in Navy and orange and she did EXACTLY what I do when I find a piece I love...
BUY ONE IN EVERY COLOR of course!

This sweater is so comfortable and soft and looks great with leggings, skinny jeans, and those amazing DEAR JOHN Marson Wide Leg Denim Trousers I received in my 16th Fix. And just for the sake of "honesty", I just MIGHT have worn it with a pair of pajama pants... I know, I lips that totally defeats the purpose of stitch fix, but as always, I'm keeping it real!

Anther thing I love about this sweater is that it's a little lighter color.  I've noticed that in the darker days of winter the colors seam to get so dull and dark.  Although i's gray, a neutral color, it somehow pulls off "bright".

CREATIVE COMMUNE Vandalia Shoulder Cutout Blouse
Size: Too Big | Style: Just Okay | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Just Okay

I need to start by reminding you that, as Caroline mentioned in her note, I asked for this blouse by way of my Pinterest "My Style Board" which is something that Caroline does really well.
That being said, this blouse looked way better on the girl from my pin.

It looked odd on me and I don't care for the gather that caused the sleeve to be puff,
Definitely glad I got to try it on though.

MARKET & SPRUCE Margerie Stripe Dot Open Cardigan - Navy Blue
Size: Just Right | Style: Like It | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Like It
Even as I type I am on the fence with this cardigan.
Ultimately I'm not in love with this piece, but I could definitely see it working with my style as a layering piece!
and it will work with brown!

MOVINT BROOKE SWING SKIRT - MAROON
Size: Too Small | Style: Like It Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Like It
The color was beautiful and very festive.  the material was really soft almost like velvet.  It had some beautiful detailing on the front
 and...
As Caroline suggested, I added that amazing gray 41HAWTHORN Helix Pullover Sweater some brown boot socks and my Frye boots and it was really a super cute dressy casual winter look.
I almost kept this skirt with the thought that it will fit perfectly after I loose 5 pounds and get my pre baby abs back...
But my baby is almost 2 and that just isn't how I want to buy a beautiful skirt!

SKIES ARE BLUE Zinna Faux Suede Dress - Navy Blue
Size: Just Right | Style: Like It Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Hate It

In theory this dress should have worked, but when it was on it just didn't.
(excuse that belly, remember my "baby"'s age... I know...)
I do love that it was soft, but thats about it for this dress.

DOWN TO BUSINESS
MARKET & SPRUCE Margerie Stripe & Dot Open Cardigan $68.00 - KEEP

FINAL THOUGHTS

"Pinterest is by far the most helpful. It's super interesting, and there's a lot of overlap with our audience. Even if you have nothing about fashion on your Pinterest board, you can learn so much by what people are pinning on their decor boards or DIY boards. It gives you a peek into what someone's life is like." - Q&A interview by Dana Hull, with the San Jose Mercury News

Stitch Fix #18 - November 2015 - Knoxville, TN

MY NOTE TO MY STYLIST
I'd like to request Layla as my stylist this fix. It's frustrating starting over each time with a new stylist. For this fix; knit tops and sweaters and white. I've pinned a ton. Also, "Shift" dresses I'm sort of obsessed, which brings me to a last request. My sister "borrowed" the Loveappella button neck Shift dress from my 12th Fix. It was one of my absolute favorites Stitch Fix pieces! is there another one out there!?
MY STYLIST'S NOTE TO ME
Hi Lili, I hope you are well in Knoxville! I saw that you had requested Layla for today's Fix, but unfortunately she was unavailable.  I want you to know that I spent a lot of time reviewing your feedback and history with us (love your blog!) and picked some pieces for you today that you will just love!  You mentioned that you were obsessed with shift dresses so I thought the Ivy + Blu dress would be perfect! The orange gives you a fun, fall pop if color! This dress would look great with the Echo scarf and a denim jacket.  Throw on some ankle boots and your look is complete!  You have both the RO Style poncho and the 41 Hawthorn sweater pinned to your board and I was able to find them for you today!  Try then both with the jeans you kept back in September for two great fall looks! I can't wait to hear what you think! xo, Caroline

I want to start by saying, I'm not a shopper. I think for several reasons, but highest on the list is that I'm just not good at it. The only time I really do it successfully is when I'm shopping with my adorably dressed friends. Back in the day, when I was a newly wed and a working' girl my sweet friend Caroline and I use to spend our lunch hour sifting through the sale racks at Ann Taylor Loft. She would pull the most random pieces from the rack and tell me to "Just try it on". I would and almost always it looked amazing. Those are some of my fondest memories of shopping. So when I read my stylists note and got to the bottom and saw her name was Caroline, well I sort of got a warm fuzzy feeling. I know she's out in California somewhere and she isn't my real Caroline, but for just a moment It was like I was 26 again, spending an hour with my friend. I TRUELY hope I get to keep her!

RD STYLE Calandra Side Button Hooded Poncho
Size: Too Big | Style: Like It | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Just okay
This is a beautiful sweater
And I was thrilled to see something I'd pinned arrive in my Fix!
but once on,
Even the small was HUGE!!!
This isn't the first time I've pinned something from Stitch Fix and when it shows up at my door is looks COMPLETELY different in person than it looked in the pin.
But I think that's the beauty of Stitch Fix.  You can get it home, try it on, model it for your husband, who will bring you back down to earth from your "Box Day High" and tell you that what you're wearing looks like a blanket with buttons.  Then, you can neatly fold that sucker up, stick it in the prepaid envelope, and SHIP IT BACK!

In the beginning I use to feel bad sending things back.  Like I was going to hurt my stylist's feelings if I didn't keep what she sent me.  The thing is, 18 fixes later I realize, if I keep something I'm not in love with, I'm not doing either of us any favors.  Let that be a lessen to you! If you aren't going to wear it! SEND IT BACK because when you do, I can almost guarantee your next fix will be better because your stylist learns from what you send back and the feedback you give.  Moving on...

MOON COLLECTION Bailee Cowl Neck Knit Poncho
Size: Just right | Style: Just Okay | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Just okay
So you noticed it too, another poncho, I was a little surprised too, but hey I guess it's poncho season. and they were both REALLY different looks and styles.  While the first felt a little on the edgy side, this Moon Collection poncho was really preppy.
This was also a very pretty poncho sweater
but was bulky around the neck. I'm not a huge fan of cow necks because I just am not sure it looks all that great on me because I'm petite.

And honestly, looking at the pictures I think it actually looks less flattering that I realized when I had it on.
What do you think?

ECHO Adalia Striped Blanket Scarf
Size: Just right | Style: Love It | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Love it
This scarf is perfect for a cold day.
It's a little bulky, but as an outer layer vs. a fashion accessory, I think it will be very nice!
And the colors are great! And did i mention it's SOFT SOFT SOFT!!!!!!

IVY + BLU Daelan Dress $118.00
Size: Just right | Style: LOVE IT! | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: LOVE IT!
Okay friends, Confession Time! I am a Stitch Fix "Peeker"!!! In fact as soon as I get my Stitch Fix shipment email I waste buckets of time combing the internet for the items in my box. The closest I could get prior to The Stitch Fix App was usually the basics; top, dress, etc. but no color or pattern specifics. BUT as I scoured the world wide web for this particular item I found NOTHING.
But on "Fix Day", when I saw a peek of orange my heart did a little stutter step. The drop waste of this dress is so incredibly cute!
I aded the Mavi Kalie Denim Jacket from Fix # 9 as Caroline suggested
And a layering necklace I picked up at Dillards last spring and I really am excited about this look

41HAWTHORN Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater $68.00
Size: Just right | Style: Love It | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Love It
The sweater was exactly what I'd hoped for when I pinned it! It is EXACTLY my style! Please keep sending more pieces like this! Caroline, you NAILED IT!
Unlike the Ivy + Blu dress there were about a million images of this beautiful sweater out there so I wasn't sure which one would arrive at my door but I was THRILLED to see this one.
I'd seen it this sweater worn with some riding boos, so I kept it simple with skinny jeans and riding boots and of course they this sweater was a keeper!

DOWN TO BUSINESS

IVY + BLU Daelan Dress $118.00 - KEEP
41HAWTHORN Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater $68.00 - KEEP

FINAL THOUGHTS
Although I'm only keeping 3 pieces, I am so very happy with how Caroline styled me. I really think she did her homework noting my requests, my Pins, and my favorite colors and styles. I'd LOVE to have her style me again and again! This fix was really fun and one of my favorites so far! The IVY + BLU dress is probably one of my favorite pieces I've ever received in a fix and I've already worn the 41HAWTHORN sweater 2 times. Caroline you absolutely NAILED it and I can't wait to see what you come up with n my next fix!

Stitch Fix Fans
I think one of my favorite parts about Stitch Fix is the CRAZY loyal fan base it has. There are HUNDREDS of ladies out there that are recording their favorite Fix pieces on their blogs and You Tube channels.  It's so much fun to see what everyone else is getting in their boxes and it helps me fill my Pinterest Style Board with clothes that I know Stitch Fix has in their inventory.  On my "Stitch Fix Fun" tab above, I have a BUNCH of links to blogs I follow who post their recent Stitch Fix boxes but my all time favorite Stitch Fix blogger is Maria! She is completely adorable! She and her sweet husband Rob run the blog "Crazy Together".  Hop on over there and check out her 32nd Fix!  I continue to be amazed at how cute she looks in everything her stylist sends.

Stitch Fix #17 Review - Knoxville, TN. - October 2015

Wow! I can't believe this is my 17th Fix and I have to say that I think this has been the hardest Fix to decide what to keep and what to send back.
My Note To MyStylist
This month, for a couple of reasons I left my fix up to chance. I didn't make any specific requests. I'd seen so many adorable fall sweaters being posted on the StitchFix Facebook Page that I was sure this month would be a great month to just let things happen naturally...

That being said... This is the letter I WISH I'd written to my Stitch Fix stylist!

Dear Stitch Fix Stylist, - Please send me some of the amazing sweaters, knit tops, and scarves and dresses I'm seeing up and down the Stitch Fix blog these days. Please look at my blog and Pinterest board for inspiration. And please oh please send me stuff I'm going to love and want to keep.  With Love - Lili

But alas, I didn't send that note, so I have no one to blame but myself.

My Stylist's Note To Me
Dear Lili, I really enjoyed styling this Fix for you! I spent a lot of time reading your feedback from your previous Fixes, and checking out your Pinterest -and I think you will love all of these pieces! Our Kamile dress from Gilli is a different silhouette than you've received before. Pair it with the Barboza jacket and add some long layered necklaces. I noticed you had our cold-shoulder trend pinned a few times- our grey and black version is great for date night with skinny jeans and boots. The pattern on our Ivy Blouse is fun, without being too young. Accessorize almost any outfit with this simple and beautiful silver bracelet. I'm looking forward to your feedback. Have fun trying everything on! -Kandida

ZAD ADEL CENTER DOTTED CUFF
Size: Too Big | Style: Like it Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Just okay
As you can see this is a super simple cuff bracelet.  My first impression was that it was a definite keeper.  I kept it on while trying everything on and taking photos and even with it pushed as small as it will go the cuff kept rolling around the wrong direction and getting caught on everything. So now I'm really rethinking keeping, even though the price is awesome!

PIXLEY IVY SPLIT NECK PRINT BLOUSE
Size: Just right | Style: Just ok Price: To high | Fit / Cut: Just right

When I pulled this out of the box I thought 'this looks like curtains'
And after a quick google search....
I found these aphulstry patterns from House Hackney
That said every blouse deserves a try on. It was super dark with dark wash skinny jeans and my Cole Haun boots...
So I added my super soft Market & Spruce Lauderdale Knit Cardigan from Fix # 12
It definitely lightened everything up but I'm still not sold.

And just in case you think I'm a pattern hater...
 I LOVE this...
 and this..
and this...
SEE I don't hate all patterns!

GENTLE FAWN BARBOZA JACKET
Size: Just right | Style: Hate it Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Hate it

First of all I was a little confused because once again it was a dark outer layer just like
This Market & Spruce Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket from Fix #10
and this LATTE Jovani Twill Jacket from Fix #16

Maybe I need to go back through my style profile to be sure I haven't accidentally asked for "lots of dark outer layers".  That said I was super excited about this jacket because it's so soft and as I've said before I'm a total sucker for SUPER SOFT!!!
Once I had it on I was a little disappointed because it had no structure.
it sort of looked rumpled and messy.

GILLI KAMILE JERSEY RUCHED DETAIL DRESS
Size: Just right | Style: Love it Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Love it

You already got a little peek at this cutie in the photos of the jacket.
...but you'll probably agree without the jacket is way better than with.
With a couple of layering necklaces and those same Cole Haun boots and I think we have a winner.
I did try it on with the Mavi Kalie Denim Jacket from Fix #9 as the Style card suggestedand I think its a better outer layer option.
Also, with a quick google I found that it also comes in RED!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

LOVEAPPELLA KARUH COLD SHOULDER BANDED KNIT TOP
Size: Just right | Style: Like it Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Like it

When this top appeared on the Stitch Fix blog in maroon I squealed a little and pin it right away.
I actually like the fit and cut of this one better than the one I pinned.  My only concern is the color this gray and black jersey pattern reminds me of a sweatshirt.
I think the shoulder cut outs are super flattering!
In the long run I could see myself regretting it if I sent this back.

FINAL THOUGHTS
So after all that can you totally see how this fix was super hard to decide... Should I keep or should I send back?  Each of the pieces has something I loved but as I've said before, as much as I LOVE getting the Keep All 5 Discount, I really want to LOVE my clothes!

And now...
