Naked Windows - Baltimore, MD - September2009

Note To Reader: I know… I know… To take an almost 2 week break from bloggingand for my first post back to be such a provocative title as this… Well I had to get your attention!!!

So to the point with me… I’m at a loss as to what to do for curtains for our bedroom. The Hub is demanding that something be done soon even if it is not a permanent fix as he is entering the most demanding of his rotations to date and will need to sleep when he is home… no matter the hour.

In fact his exact words were…

“T-Rod!!! We’ve gotta do something about curtains in this room! I can’t sleep in here! It’s like day time!”

So I am taking suggestions! There is a Jo-Ann’s a mile and a half from my house, but I continue to be uninspired!

I’ve taken pictures for those of you that need to visualize…

71” wide x 57“ Tall
and a smaller one on the adjacent wall that is 27” wide x 46” Tall.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Till next time,
Bon Voyage
!

I'm severely bad at picking curtain fabric. I thought about just hanging black out drapes for now. Eventually they'll be sew to the back of the curtains, but for now they we keep the cold and the light out.

Bed Bath and Beyond find a 20% off coupon you can use more than one on a single purchase. They have curtains that are lined to keep light out. Get a neutral color and you can use them until you find something better or if you get one of those nifty two red things you can put the neutral curtains against the window and then have "prettier" curtains jut out like a foot or something if you wish.

Hi there! If you haven't found curtains yet, try layering three: one sheer, one white, and one dark.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a huge selection of curtains. If you layer them, you won't have to worry much about how thick the dark one is, because you'll have the white one blocking part of the light already.

Have fun!

I've found some really neat ones for a decent price (especially the sales) at Pier1. You've got a nice color on the wall, but its pretty neutral. Are there other colors in your room? I think that a nice bold print could be lots of fun, especially if there's not much going on in the room. And then, for poor JRod, you could back them with some blackout curtains between the window and the pretty curtains. They'll also help to keep the cold out as well. Adam is already talking about having a good dark room somewhere in the house to sleep during the day. :)Here's their sale page with curtains (and a few rugs and pillows). Many of them are around 20ish it looks like: http://www.pier1.com/catalog/browse/0600.rugs-pillows-windows.special-savings
I especially love these:
