Stitch Fix #16 Review- Knoxville, TN - September 2015

My Note to My Stylist
I'd love some white as we move into fall, maybe a cable knit cozy sweater (NOT ITCHY PLEASE) I love the SF Blog Post on the "10 Fall Style Essentials". and am digging the White sweater, Suede dress, wide legged jeans, the print on the skirt would be perfect on pants and I pinned an amazing scarf! Getting excited about fall!

Note From My Stylist
Hi Lili, Happy Fix Day! I had a great time styling you today and I hope that you like the Fall essentials that I was able to find for you The Dear John wide leg trouser is a great pant to wear with sweaters or blouses, pair with the RD Style white sweater and a heel for a fun look. The Fate Suede dress is great to wear with a legging and boot or pair with a heel and layer with a fun necklace for a great look, Wear the collective Concepts top with the jeans and layer with the Latte jacket which is another Fall must have. The cargo jacket is a great neutral and can be layered over anything or wear with a black jean and white shirt for a great layered look. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the scarf that you requested, but please ask for it again next fix. Let us know hoe things worked in this Fix and what you might light in your next Fix.

LATTE Jovani Twill Jacket
Size: Just Right | Style: Just Right | Price: Like it | Fit / Cut: Like it
When I pulled this jacket from the box I was a little confused.
It's almost identical in color and style to the Market & Spruce Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket I received in Fix #10, just a little more structured, don't you think?
despite the similarities I slid my arms in and found myself wishing I'd gotten this jacket first.  But then...
Moments later...
I discovered THIS.....
All the zipper pockets are FAKE!!!  WHAT!?!?!
SERIOUSLY!!??  That being said I still love how this jacket fits and think it looks great!  Wasn't there a different color?

COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS Salas Split Neck Blouse $58.00
Size: Just Right | Style: Just Right | Price: Love it | Fit / Cut: Like it
I like this top and the large geo print.  I also like that the pattern lines up from one side to the other which has been sort of a "thing" with other StitchFix blouses.
When I tried it on it felt a little big, espicially in the arm holes.
I added my old stand by gren, hooded cardigan and really like how the outfit came together

RD STYLE Ridge Zipper Detail Cowl Neck Sweater $64.00
Size: Too big | Style: Just right | Price: Like it | Fit / Cut: Hate it
When I saw this beauty in the box I was really excited to try on this sweater. I requested a white cozy sweater and I thought this was going to be perfect!
But in reality it felt HUGE on, was SUPER itchy, and the bizarre, uneven, A-semetrical hem line really bugs me.
SUPER WEIRD, RIGHT?  Why would someone do this to such a beautiful sweater??!!  I wish I knew how to sew r alter or something because there were so many things I liked about this sweater.  For example.  I LOVE the zipper detail on the sleeve and the length would have been perfect for leggings and riding boots.

FATE Fischer Suede Dress $88.00
Size: Just right | Style: Like it | Price: Just right | Fit / Cut: Hate it
I absolutly love that I requested this dress and a few days later it appeared in my Stitch Fix box!  THANK YOU!!!  Thank you for listening!
I love so much about this dress.  The dropped waist line is so flattering.  The material was amazing and somehow didn't wrinkle!  Not sure how that works, but it's impressive!  this dress was so incredibly soft! I couldn't stop "petting" the dress!  The length was PERFECT!  Unfortunately, the crew neck line is just too high!", like pioneer woman high.

DEAR JOHN Marson Wide Leg Denim Trouser $78.00
Size: Too big | Style: Just right | Price: Like it | Fit / Cut: Hate it

The final piece in this Fix were these amazing jeans which I'm wearing with all the other pieces I received in this fix except the dress of course.
with RD STYLE Ridge Zipper Detail Cowl Neck Sweater
with COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS Salas Split Neck Blouse
with LATTE Jovani Twill Jacket

FINAL COMMENTS
This Fix was a LOVE/HATE. The HATE was that she (or he) didn't appear to review my past fixes and sent something almost identical to a piece from fix 10. I wish I could have the same stylist each Fix.  I wish that after 16 monthly fixes I was developing a "relationship" with my stylist like this fellow Stitch Fixer and that my fixes were getting better. That's not happening. My goal for each Fix is to keep all 5 pieces and take advantage of the discount. With a new stylist each fix it's just not possible because you're starting over every time.  I LOVE that my stylist sent me a few of my requested items and I LOVE that some of the pieces are keepers!

I just wanted to take a moment to say that I really do LOVE Stitch Fix. I definitely don't want my readers to get the wrong impression in my reviews.  My goal in doing these reviews is to be completely honest about the process.  I'd hate for someone to read this, sign up for Stitch Fix and think that every piece was a winner every time. That your stylist listened to and honored your every request. and the inventory fairies made it possible for the right size and colors to be available every time.  That's just not the case, but that being said, it's still FUN!  For a busy mama of 3 little ladies 5 and under it's awesome to be able to have beautiful clothes appear at my doorstep.  Almost every time I wear a stitch Fix piece out someone comments on it and says how great it looks or asks where I got it. the styles and brands are so unique and are buys that I could only dream about purchasing "sans little ones" from a beautifully appointed boutique with a sign on the door reading "NO STICKY CHILDREN ALLOWED!!!"

I figured that the fact that I'm still receiving Fixes after almost a year and a half would speak for it's self, but just in case it doesn't, this is just FOR THE RECORD, I LOVE Stitch Fix and don't see myself slowing down any time soon.  If you're thinking about it you should definitely give it a try,
and now...

Stitch Fix #15 Review - Knoxville, TN - August 2015

My Note To My Stylist
Hi Catie! With all the summer travel over with, this month, let's think "staple tops". Solid colors and either butterfly, short, or 3/4 sleeve. I've pinned a few like the Skies Are Blue Gwen and Topanga Crochet detail and the Brixon Ivy lace detail tops. I want tops that can be every day classics to dress up with slacks or dress down with jeans or shorts.
My Stylist's Note to Me
Hi Lili, Catie was unable to style you for your fix this month so she asked me to help out (I'm also Katy). I read through your feedback and previous Fixes to find pieces I think you're going to love. You mentioned you were interested in solid colored tops as we head out of summer and into fall. I started with the Collective Concepts Crochet detail top in white. This is a great top to pair with your favorite jeans dress it up with a chic pencil skirt and the Pixley layering necklace. I also noticed some gauchos on your Pinterest board and thought you'd love the silhouette of the RO Style Culotte in black. These would be great to pair with the Skies Are Blue button down blouse in turquoise and some sleek black heels. I hope you enjoy your fix and I can't wait to hear what you think! Best Katy

RD STYLE Payton Culotte Pant
Size: Just right | Style: like it | Price: Just right | Fit / cut: Hate it
Comments
I wanted to LOVE these gauchos and I think it was really cool that my stylist picked up on this from my Pinterest board but the high waist was AWFUL! NOT attractive! Looked and felt like MOM JEANS!!!  You'll see what I mean in the pictures below.

SKIES ARE BLUE Kavinski Button Down Blouse
Size: Too Big | Style: Hate it | Price: just Right | Fit / cut: Hate it
Comments:
This shirt is a TENT!!!
As my stylist suggested I paired the RD STYLE Payton Culotte Pant with this blouse and the only thing I liked about it was the color.   The fabric was course AND SEE THROUGH and the arms were super gaping!  And see what I mean about the high waist line!  Seriously, "Mom Jeans"!  There's even an elastic waist band in there!

PIXLEY Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace
Size: Just right | Style: like it | Price: too high | Fit / cut: like it
Comments
This necklace is nice. It's sort of random and the stone color is really similar to the last necklace I received in fix#13. It is what I'm requesting; silver, statement peaces with color, but I found a very similar piece at at target for $18.

41HAWTHORN Aster Geo Print Belted Tabsleeve Shirtdress

Size: Just right | Style: like it | Price: Just right | Fit / cut: like it

Comments
I wasn't wowed by this dress at first,
BUT
It's sort of growing on me.
I think it's one of those pieces I'll regret if I don't keep.
I don't have anything like it in my closet and I think I'll love it in the fall.

COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS Brigden Crochet Detail Top
Size: Just right | Style: Hate it | Price: Just right | Fit / cut: Hate it
Comments
This top just didn't work. It felt like a see through maternity top or a night shirt.
The suggestion of tucking it into a pencil skirt was AWFUL! I'm not really a "tuck in" kind of girl, and I don't own a pencil skirt and don't really know what I'd do with one, but as you can see this blouse was just too bunchy to tuck in.
It was nothing like the crochet detail tops I requested or pinned!  a pretty big disappointment

OVER ALL THOUGHTS
Overall for me this Fix was...
Convenient? Somewhat Agree
Fun? Delightful? Somewhat Disagree
The right style? Somewhat Disagree
The right size? Somewhat Agree

Final Comments
See www.wanderinglili.blogspot.com for full review. This was a disappointing fix! I think it's just "luck" when you're switched to a new stylists! I really wanted some staple tops like the ones I've pinned and requested but didn't really get anything like what I requested. I do like the dress and the necklace, but it's a little disappointing because what I needed was tops. Better luck next time I guess.

Stitch Fix #14 Review - Knoxville, TN - June 2015

June has been quite the exciting month for "style".  I have my "Fixes" from Stitch Fix set to automatically ship every 4 weeks (monthly).  this month since I got a fix at the begining of the month just 4 weeks later another box arrived on my door step.  WOO HOO!!! So excited to share this with you guys!!!

My Note To My Stylist
For Fix #14 I added the Frye Shirley Artisin riding boots to my closet, my pinterest cover photo, so I never thought I'd say this but I might need a pair of skinny jeans. I've also pinned several shift dress/riding boot combos as well as other riding boot styles I think would look amazing. Also look out for that Ruby maxi or like summer dresses.

My Stylist's Note To Me
Hi Lili! Thanks for updating your Pinterest board! Those Frye boots you got are super cute and hopefully will work with the Level 99 jeans included here. These jeans are super comfortable and perfect for any time of year. I've added them in a petite size for you (hopefully no hemming!) I've also included a tunic top like you requested.the Pixley tie waste tunic comes in a really lovely green that will really pop with your complection. I can't wait to see how they look on you from your blog! I saw that your last fix missed an opportunity to style you for your upcoming trip. the pixels dress included is awesome and will be be great for a date night with your husband.  I know you were looking forward to the Ruby maxi. We unfortunately don't have it in at this time, but Ill keep and eye out! With Love, Catie

GILLI Arisha Striped Dress
This dress is so soft and the uneven hem line is a fun change! AND a s you'll see below, the price was AMAZING!!!  One of the other unique details of this dress that I like were the rolled or twisted shoulder straps.  Just a fun little detail that made the dress different.

but as cute as the dress is hanging...
It just didn't translate.
I'm not sure if it's because I;m short, but it gave me no shape

LE LIS Alston Crochet Shoulder Knit Tank
Once again, this tank was so incredibly soft! I LOVE LOVE LOVE soft clothes!!
I probably could have had one size smaller as you can see that there's lots of gapping under the arms.
It also had a really fun uneven hem line and I like the loose feel and the back...
I LOVE the CUT of the straps; SUPER flattering I think, but the cut outs in the straps were a little young and I can predict that the gray color will likely show sweat on these hot southern days.

PIXLEY Darcy Weave Jersey T-Shirt Dress
This dress was just okay.
It was REALLY soft and comfortable.
but because it was really fitted...
With hot pink and black stripes it just looked like a "clubbing" dress.  Am I crazy? DO you agree?
Maybe a solid or softer color stripe or a geo print pattern would have helped.  These are the times I wish I were more fashionable because I know this dress had potential.  It was so form flattering!  I think the right accessories could have helped, but I just didn't know how to style it and make it work. Hmmmmmmmmm....?

LEVEL 99 Glenda Straight Leg Jean
Once again these jeans were ULTRA soft and had a great amount of stretch to them.  I do have to let you know that there was a time, when I first filled out my style profile when I told my stylist "NO SKINNY JEANS"  This is how much Stitch fix has pushed me out of my comfort zone.  I actually REQUESTED a pair of skinny jeans.  I bet Catie's jaw dropped when she read those words in my noet to her.
And although I'm still a total novice at styling these super cute pants I think overall I like how they look.
I think the one hitching point is that they're one size too small.
I tried them with another top that you'll see below.  It hides all my "extra" but when you can see where it counts, the, don't you think they sort of look a little painted on?

PIXLEY Polly Dotted Chevron Tie Waist Tunic
When I pulled this top out of the box I actually thought I'd hate it. Other than the fact that it was so soft to the touch, the print was crazy busy.
but once it was on and I paired it with the level 99 skinny jeans and my Frye boots it wasn't bad.
But there was something about it that didn't work.  I still can't put my finger on it, but even now, looking at the pictures,  it just didn't look right.
Any thoughts?
Should I have kept it?

GILLI Arisha Striped Dress $38.00 - RETURN
LE LIS Alston Crochet Shoulder Knit Tank $44.00 - RETURN
PIXLEY Darcy Weave Jersey T-Shirt Dress $68.00 - RETURN
LEVEL 99 Glenda Straight Leg Jean $98.00 - RETURN
