My Note To My Stylist
Hi Catie! With all the summer travel over with, this month, let's think "staple tops". Solid colors and either butterfly, short, or 3/4 sleeve. I've pinned a few like the Skies Are Blue Gwen and Topanga Crochet detail and the Brixon Ivy lace detail tops. I want tops that can be every day classics to dress up with slacks or dress down with jeans or shorts.
My Stylist's Note to Me
Hi Lili, Catie was unable to style you for your fix this month so she asked me to help out (I'm also Katy). I read through your feedback and previous Fixes to find pieces I think you're going to love. You mentioned you were interested in solid colored tops as we head out of summer and into fall. I started with the Collective Concepts Crochet detail top in white. This is a great top to pair with your favorite jeans dress it up with a chic pencil skirt and the Pixley layering necklace. I also noticed some gauchos on your Pinterest board and thought you'd love the silhouette of the RO Style Culotte in black. These would be great to pair with the Skies Are Blue button down blouse in turquoise and some sleek black heels. I hope you enjoy your fix and I can't wait to hear what you think! Best Katy

I wanted to LOVE these gauchos and I think it was really cool that my stylist picked up on this from my Pinterest board but the high waist was AWFUL! NOT attractive! Looked and felt like MOM JEANS!!! You'll see what I mean in the pictures below.

This shirt is a TENT!!!
As my stylist suggested I paired the RD STYLE Payton Culotte Pant with this blouse and the only thing I liked about it was the color. The fabric was course AND SEE THROUGH and the arms were super gaping! And see what I mean about the high waist line! Seriously, "Mom Jeans"! There's even an elastic waist band in there!

This necklace is nice. It's sort of random and the stone color is really similar to the last necklace I received in fix#13. It is what I'm requesting; silver, statement peaces with color, but I found a very similar piece at at target for $18.

I wasn't wowed by this dress at first,
I wasn't wowed by this dress at first,
BUT
It's sort of growing on me.
I think it's one of those pieces I'll regret if I don't keep.
I don't have anything like it in my closet and I think I'll love it in the fall.

This top just didn't work. It felt like a see through maternity top or a night shirt.
The suggestion of tucking it into a pencil skirt was AWFUL! I'm not really a "tuck in" kind of girl, and I don't own a pencil skirt and don't really know what I'd do with one, but as you can see this blouse was just too bunchy to tuck in.
It was nothing like the crochet detail tops I requested or pinned! a pretty big disappointment
OVER ALL THOUGHTS
Overall for me this Fix was...
Convenient? Somewhat Agree
Fun? Delightful? Somewhat Disagree
The right style? Somewhat Disagree
The right size? Somewhat Agree
Final Comments
See www.wanderinglili.blogspot.com for full review. This was a disappointing fix! I think it's just "luck" when you're switched to a new stylists! I really wanted some staple tops like the ones I've pinned and requested but didn't really get anything like what I requested. I do like the dress and the necklace, but it's a little disappointing because what I needed was tops. Better luck next time I guess.

According to Katrina Lake Stitch Fix founder and CEO
"Pinterest is by far the most helpful. It's super interesting, and there's a lot of overlap with our audience. Even if you have nothing about fashion on your Pinterest board, you can learn so much by what people are pinning on their decor boards or DIY boards. It gives you a peek into what someone's life is like." - Q&A interview by Dana Hull, with the San Jose Mercury News
